Nearly 100 years into the dystopian future, the Progressive Reform party sweeps the US elections. Sixteen-year-old Braxton Luther thinks his father is overreacting with his sermons of doom and gloom. But in the months that follow, Braxton sees the fanatical movement blossom among his high schoolmates. Lead by bullies and teachers alike, the initiates must pledge unequivocal support to the Party and targets Christians as subversives that need converting—or weeding out. Still Braxton believes this crisis will blow over even has the screws are tightened on his family, the church and the girl he loves.

The Resistance is another excellent dystopian with a chillingly plausible plot line reminiscent of the Nazi takeover of democratic Germany in 1932. With nice character development, The Resistance is an interesting read on mature side.
