Charlie West woke up in a nightmare, a real nightmare—and he can’t remember how he got there. After narrowly escaping malevolent terrorists, he foiled an assassination attempt on a top US official but still can’t remember a year out of his should-be-in-high school life. He eluded the police who think he is a murderer, but they are the least of his worries. The Homelanders have tracked Charlie down to a public library and put in motion a perfect plan to execute him. How will the resourceful Mr. West escape this time?
Okay, I’m a little crazy about this book and the series, so you’ll probably be seeing the next installment on this site soon. The high octane action kept me glued to the pages, and the careful mystery keeps you guessing. How did Charlie lose a year of his memory? Who really murdered his best friend and how did they frame Charlie? This is not a heavy duty spiritual book but it does depict a church kid trying to do the right thing. His inner journey leads him to discover what kind of person he really is—and whose side he is on. Author Andrew Klavan has done it again.
