In this spiritual speculative, Jesus comes to earth in an alternative universe in the equivalent 21st-century. There, he attends a local California high school. The book chronicles five characters as they interact with Eli the Messiah beginning with Satan, Maggie (a.k.a. Mary Magdalene), Jude (a.k.a. Judas Iscariot), Thomas and Peter and one another.

Bill Myers’ portrayal of Satan and his temptation of Eli, the Messiah, borders on genius similar to The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis. The remaining characters are nearly as well done and provide insightful insight into human nature in a modern-day high school setting. This is one read you will not want to miss.
