Jonah Stone’s mother, Eleanor, is one of the Nephilim, half human and half fallen angel, but a follower of Elohim. As quarterlings, thirteen-year-old Jonah and his eleven-year-old sister, Eliza, discover they too have superhuman powers. But Abbadon has a diabolical plan with the Nephilum to trigger chaos and evil on the earth. He orders his demonic henchmen in the guise of repairmen to kidnap Jonah’s mom. Angelic messengers inform Jonah and Eliza that Elohim has quested them to rescue their mother. Thus begins Jonah and Eliza’s harrowing adventure into the Hidden Realm to battle fallen angels and rescue their mother before Abbadon can corrupt her and initiate his plan.

In Spirit Fighter, the veil is removed and Jonah and Eliza experience the unseen battle between good and evil with frightening vividness. Fallen angels possess wild animals and pursue the siblings, demons impersonate Jonah’s angelic allies, and fearful creatures inhabit the Hidden Realm. Although angelic/human procreation and children with superhuman powers are pure fantasy, the author’s speculation on the spiritual realm weaves powerful spiritual principles into the plot. Even with angelic-like powers, prayer, trust and reliance upon the sovereign Elohim are paramount.

The writing style is definitely for the younger 8-12 year old audience, and in light of the depth of spirituality and content, I prefer that he’d have leveled the age up. Still, Spirit Fighter is a powerful page turner that I give 5 stars.
