Far in a dystopian fantasy future, followers of the Maker are persecuted to near extinction by feudal lords and the hostile Pacifica to the west. But a small enclave of the faithful has found refuge in the Eastern Mountain heights where for generations they have eked out a living and defended their territory. The prophesied Ailith, including 17-year-old Andriana and her five brethren, are tasked to find their leader and to restore the lands to the peace and prosperity intended by the Maker. But Sheolites, dark warriors, hunt them down like bloodhounds.

This book is a combination of dystopian and fantasy with a theistic, but not necessarily Christian, worldview. The strong character written in first person narrative provides great action as cool personalities, gifted with near supernatural gifting, contend with supernatural foes. There is a subtle but compelling romance with a hint of a love triangle. However, the book ends without resolution, compelling the reader to dive into the next book to find out how the quest is resolved.
