Far in a dystopian fantasy future, followers of the Maker are persecuted to near extinction by feudal lords and the hostile Pacifica to the west. This book is a combination of dystopian and fantasy with a theistic, but not necessarily Christian, worldview. The strong character written in first person narrative provides great action as cool personalities, gifted with near supernatural gifting, contend with supernatural foes. There is a subtle but compelling romance with a hint of a love triangle. However, the book ends without resolution, compelling the reader to dive into the next book to find out how the quest is resolved.
