While sketching forest scenes, 17-year-old Nikki Youngblood’s tranquility is shattered by four monstrous dogs bent upon tearing her apart. The author, Heather Burch, does an amazing job of creating a story world including Nephilim, half angel, half human characters. These Halflings are free to choose either the light or the dark side and unlike their human charges, are doomed to a works salvation. These difficult characters came across unevenly, and despite the good versus evil battle plot line, a steamy, although clean, love triangle romance dominates the pages.
