Tommy worries about college scouts at his senior year football game, but more concerning is that his girl, Nicole, has dropped off the grid. A pessimist at heart, Thomas suspects the worst. And when his strange friend, Eli, tells him a storm will come, everything seems to converge on a very bad day–– one he may not survive.

Enemy, another novella sequel to the Eli Diaries, continues developing the character of Thomas in this alternative universe where the Messiah appears in a modern-day high school in California. Shawn Hopkins does an excellent job providing a fast-moving action, suspense, and great insight into human nature both today and 2000 years ago. Enemy explores the power of the gospel and Eli‘s unwavering willingness to forgive even the worst of people. At 89 pages, this complete story makes a quick and enjoyable read.
