In this 18-19th Century English adventure, eighteen year-old twins Lawrence and Chester Stoning although identical are about as different as twins can be. When the adventurous Chester runs away from home and joins the British Armey, father sends his bookworm brother to fetch him back. However, when they foil an attempted kidnapping, the chivalrous twins become bound to protect a beautiful Spanish maiden from unknown assailants.

John J. Horn has combined a love for chivalry with a historical action adventure that features mystery that keeps you guessing, exotic adventure, treachery and romance. The characters were unique, but somewhat distant and flippant in extreme situations. Moreover, although the characters were older, this book might best appeal to younger readers with the caveat that it contains some graphic violence but nothing inconsistent with the genre.
