Beth and her cousin, Patrick, visit Whit’s End, also known as kid’s paradise, and meet the kindly Mr. Whittaker. They enter the Imagination Station—a time machine that sends them to a Viking settlement in Eleventh Century Greenland with a mission to retrieve a Viking Sunstone. There they meet the fierce Erik the Red and his Christian son, Leif. Erik, the village leader, wants to sell the cousins into slavery, but Leif tries to protect them. Things get complicated and the kids seemed destined to fail their quest—and miss their ship—and their ride home on the Imagination Station.
