Wynter Patterson, along with her mother and sister, sought refuge from an abusive father in the New Earth International enclave in rural Iowa. They thought they’d found a haven, but New Earth turned out to be a hellish cult. Now Wynter must save her sister, Jaclyn and her niece, Truly. Meanwhile, a cataclysmic plague is loosed upon the land, the power grid fails and the US descends into chaos. But when Wynter receives the potential antidote, stolen from Magnus, the cult leader, she must now dodge her pursuers and find a way to get her briefcase into the hands of the CDC.
The Line Between is a riveting thriller, well-crafted, fast-paced and terrifyingly realistic. The story shifts back-and-forth from a child to a teen to a 22-year-old running for her life. It is a story of survival, love, and faith in a dystopian world that is easily within our immediate reach. Although the protagonist makes a questionable moral decision near the ending, this is an entertaining and provocative thriller from a great Christian author. The Line Between is for adults and mature teen readers.
