Corey is transported back into the days of Noah just before the Great Flood. There, he runs into two lions being shepherded to a huge wooden ship by a man named Shem. The man befriends Corey and explains the amazing truth—they are gathering animals into the ark for preservation from a worldwide catastrophic flood. But soon ninja-like giants block Shem and Corey’s way, and the 10-year-old’s faith is put to the test. Nephilim aren’t the only people opposed to Noah’s plan. Corey is soon enmeshed in the local politics that erupts into all-out war even as the first rain drops fall.
Imagine: The Great Flood brings the epic story of Noah and the Great Flood to life through the eyes of a contemporary ten-year-old. With graphic imagination the old story evolves into an exciting, entertaining and informative tale. There is nice character development as Corey learns to trust God for his own uncertain future. And through it all Corey understands how much God loves him. This short novella makes nice reading for middle grade students.
