At sixteen, Shaley gets to experience the life of a rock star as she tours with one of the country’s hottest divas, Rayne O’Conner—who happens to be her mom. But posh hotels, fine dining and hobnobbing with celebrities also come with bodyguards, the paparazzi and a yearning to discover the father she’s never known. The tour turns dark when Shaley discovers her mom’s hairdresser murdered during a concert. The investigation takes twisting turns and Shaley suspects that she is the next target.
Always Watching contains compelling mystery and suspense in a rapid fire plot that turns a little creepy. With excellent character development of a remarkable teen, Brandilyn Collins also provides an interesting insider perspective of life touring a with a rock band. Consistent with the genre, Always Watching contains murder, graphic violence and high levels of tension—so not for the faint of heart. On the other hand, the author artfully weaves in a powerful counter message of faith and hope—eventually turning the title on its head.
